Community Sunflower Head Harvest
Community Harvests are usually a gathering intended to bring in large amounts of food while working alongside your farmers and neighbors. This Community Harvest we shift our focus to bringing in sunflower heads packed with meaty seeds. After harvest, the heads will be dried and then distributed and sold to bird lovers so they can offer hearty food to birds through the cold winter months. The harvest will be a wonderful time of exploration in the Sunflower field, where birds and pollinators of all kinds are sure to visit while we work. This is a great activity for the whole family, and anyone who helps harvest will leave with a head of their own!
