Homeschool at the Farm: Senses of the Farm
Homeschool at the Farm: Senses of the Farm
Visit Hilltop Hanover Farm for a sensory-rich experience for younger homeschoolers! Smell rich soil and earthy compost, feel silky goat noses and prickly eggplant stems, and taste your way through the crop fields and greenhouses as our farmers guide you through reconnecting with the natural world using all 5 of your senses, exploring the sense landscape across the farm.
Excellent for younger students; inspiring for students of all ages, artists and scientists alike.
Hilltop's homeschool-specific programs will introduce students to the lively processes at work on our organic farm. Through hands-on field work, meeting animals and plants in the fields and greenhouses, and a visit to the historic farm buildings, we’ll get up close and personal with the cycles of growing and food production, learn about history, and put our energy to work in the soil, all through the lens of sustainability and stewardship. Our programs are designed to supplement science and environmental education standards, and students will discover these concepts for themselves as we explore life and agriculture at Hilltop Hanover.
