Native Plant Propagation Clinic
Join native plant expert Dan Jaffe for a workshop on propagating native plants from seed.
Want to see more native plants growing in Westchester and our neighboring communities? Come help the farmers at Hilltop Hanover grow them!
The native plant nursery at Hilltop Hanover is a pilot program designed to trial native plants as a new crop for small-scale farmers, enhance the agroecology systems at Hilltop Hanover Farm, and produce native plants to support the stewardship work of local gardeners, landscapers, and conservation professionals. Our efforts will focus on plant species that are easy-to-grow, deer-tolerant, useful in gardens, and attractive to pollinators.
This program is one of five being offered to volunteers that want to get hands-on experience cultivating native plants, from seed sowing to seed collecting, by helping us grow plants in our nursery. Come prepared to get your hands dirty—we will be propagating seeds of seven species of native plants!
Registration is limited to volunteers interested in helping us with the nursery program throughout the growing season.
This program is free, thanks to a generous grant from the Bedford Garden Club.
