Who We Are
Hilltop Hanover Farm & Environmental Center is dedicated to the practices of sustainable agriculture, environmental stewardship, community education, and the creation of access to healthy food systems. Hilltop is a 60-acre working farm and educational center operated by Westchester County Parks, Recreation, and Conservation that uses organic practices to grow produce, flowers, and seeds for a market-style CSA, on-site farm stand, and native plant nursery. The farm offers educational programming throughout the year and the property is open to the public, free of charge, year round.
Primary Responsibilities
- Maintain the upkeep of facilities, grounds, and care of tools and equipment
- Perform daily janitorial duties of all of the buildings
- Care for the landscape through weed whacking, mowing, brush clearing, etc.
- Assist in light carpentry in matters such as fence, door, or window repair
- Stock supplies as needed
Qualifications
- Comfortably able to lift 40lbs.
- Flexibility to work outdoors in all weather
Requirements
- Minimum 18 years of age
- Background check required
Hours and Compensation
Starting salary is $16/hour. Benefits include a seasonal, weekly Farm Stand credit and a 30% discount on all items at the Farm Stand year-round.
Work is typically scheduled from 7:30am - 3:00pm, five days a week.
